Description/Overview: This presentation includes complete works of short poetry that expresses unique feelings of nurses who are facing their own health crises or who feel constrained by their role as a nurse in sharing their own experience of illness with their patients. These poems were written in December 2008 and inspired by the author's feelings related to her own health issues and contemplation of the feelings nurses facing other health crises might experience.
Learner Objective #1: The learner will be able to describe affective states of nurse patients with cancer, HIV, and depression.
Learner Objective #2: The learner will be able to express feelings related to being a nurse dealing with her or his own health issues.
