E 02 SPECIAL SESSION: Globally Advancing the Profession of Nursing: Clinical and Education Partnerships

Description/Overview: 2007 Sigma Theta Tau International appointed an international Chief Nursing Officer/Dean Task Force with the following purpose: Given that chief nursing officers and nursing school deans have a stake in each other’s success, develop strategies designed to optimize how they may work together and demonstrate their collective commitment to globally advancing the profession. The work of the Task Force will be described and an example of innovation partnership will be highlighted.
Learner Objective #1: Describe Sigma Theta Tau International's 2007-2009 initiative to foster collaboration between nursing education and practice.
Learner Objective #2: Describe characteristics of innovative clinical and education partnerships and provide an example of a partnership that demonstrated the desired characteristics of innovation.
