The Role of the Advanced Practice Nurse in Research Utilization

Nurses who assume advanced practice positions may not realize their role as facilitators of research utilization and evidence based-practice. The purpose of this presentation is to discuss methods to empower nurses who are preparing for these roles. Methods to build confidence in advanced practice nurses, such as teaching critique skills to associate and diploma nurses, developing poster and podium presentations, and summarizing empirical research will be presented.
