A 01 Research Utilization with Three Populations of Staff Nurses

Saturday, 29 October 2011: 3:15 PM-4:30 PM
Description/Overview: Because staff nurses are identified as having various levels of practice, the ability for advance practice nurses to energize those nurses can be a challenge. Nurses no longer have the option to practice as usual. The challenge to empower nurses who do not have research skills and critique skills can be daunting. This symposium is designed to present methods to increase research utilization skills in nurses from non-baccalaureate nurses to advanced practice nurses.
Learner Objective #1: The learner will be able to differentiate research utilization methods in three groups of staff nurses.
Learner Objective #2: The learner will be able to differentiate the role of the nurse practitioner, the nurse administrator, and the research consultant in facilitating evidence-based practice.
