The purpose of this presentation is to highlight an innovative strategy that can enhance the integration of research and clinical practice. The strategy is a key ingredient to successfully implementing evidence-based practice and it will definitely narrow the research practice gap. Evidence-based practice is the standard method for improving clinical practice. Nurses at the bedside are now involved in identifying patient problems and evaluating practices based on the best available evidence. This creative strategy is a one page fact sheet that summarizes five current research reports on a particular topic. There are many topics for example a one page fact sheet on  pain management, domestic violence, medication errors, or wound care to name a few This one page fact sheet provides the nurses at the bedside with a quick summary of current research based information. By instituting this creative strategy, nurses will be empowered to question their practice, make the necessary changes, and improve their patients’ outcomes.
