Description/Overview: Nurse leaders from South Africa who designed and are implementing the 18-month Maternal-Child Health Nurse Leadership Academy South Africa Pilot (MCH NLA SAP) will describe the need for leadership development for nurses and midwives who practice in the arena of maternal-child health care in South Africa. They will discuss the relationship of the MCH NLA SAP to the similar MCH NLA program in North America. Challenges of implementation will be shared and they will also articulate goals and anticipated outcomes of the Academy Pilot.
