Description/Overview: This presentation will discuss the current status regarding nurses in Executive Leadership roles in various healthcare settings, including statustics and demographics. It will discuss the suopport to assume leadership roles at the board level and in other settings made through the IOM Future of Nursing report, and will identify expectations, as well as skill sets, background, knowledge and abilities required to effectively succeed in Executive Leadership positions.
Learner Objective #1: Identify the current status of nurses holding executive leadership roles in various healthcare settings, their expectations of performance, & support/impediments to attaining such a role.
Learner Objective #2: Identify skill sets, background, knowledge and abilities required to effectively assume an executive leadership role.
