Description/Overview: Everyone in academe, publishing and research seems to be discussing Open Access, but the more information that becomes available, the more questions academics, scholars, writers, publishers and researchers have. What is green road? Should scholars pay to publish in journals? How does peer review fit in? What about libraries? Copyrights? Hybrid journals and other publishing options? This unique session will provide an overview of open access from STTI’s lead informatics/librarian (and designer of the Henderson full-text repository) and STTI’s publisher who leads the journal publishing program. The two will describe the current landscape, the terms, and clarify misconceptions about what Open Access is – and isn't. Time will allowed for answers to your questions.
