Making Senior Care a System Priority

Aligning a model of geriatric care with the system strategic plan and priorities  is an expectation for nursing and physician leaders and provides an opporuntity for ongoing interprofessional partnership and integration of practice education and research.  This presentation will focus on how a nurse leader within a five hospital system in partnership with other leaders was able to influence and advocate for establishment of a commitment to expansion of geriatric services at the system level.   Discussion of the challenges, innovative strategies and resources needed for development of a geriatric service line will be provided.
