Organizational Benefits and Future Recommendations
Joan M. Chaya, MA, Human Resources, Visiting Nurse Service of New York, New York, NY, USA and Harriet R. Feldman, PhD, RN, FAAN, Lienhard School of Nursing, Pace University, Pleasantville, NY, USA.

The benefits realized by both Pace University Lienhard School of Nursing (LSN) and the Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY) will be discussed in this presentation. The VNSNY, in creating a joint faculty position, has experienced a proliferation of evidenced based practice activities and skills among the clinical education and field staff. Having an EBP scholar at VNSNY has lead to an enriched clinical education department with a greater degree of professionalism, staff engagement and satisfaction, mentoring practices and improved retention. Educators are more comfortable with using and interpreting research and are less intimidated by data. Field staff perceive more organizational support; and experience less burnout, and more control over practice. Patients gain from improved delivery of quality patient care and increased satisfaction. These organizational benefits described above, along with recommendations, will be presented during this final aspect of the symposium.
