The Good Nurses Shaping-Type and Refletion in Taiwan

The study purpose was to explode the meaning of the good nurses in Taiwan, and refigure the phenomenon with medical system, social change, gender culture, and history context in Taiwan. The modern nursing was as part of the general Westernization of Chinese culture, and looking after the sick has traditionally been performed by women. Such basic social function cannot be ignored. Furthermore, the good nurse's image must be create and contact with history and culture in Taiwan, not looking for Nightingale of westernization. The participants in study had got the honour prizes of the good nurse by nursing organization since 5 years, and collect interviewed and narrative data transfer to text in writing. By means of phenomenon analysis, the text of subjects will be systematically analyzed and categorized. The results were (1) to restructure the nursing history foundation comparison between Taiwan and Western, (2) to show the deep conflict between practice and medical system, (3) to empower the self by the prize, (4) to explode an ambivalent attitude towards ideal type nurse, (5) to be prey on human force and right by the Bureau of National Health Insurance in Taiwan. For implement, those have offered new teaching materials and belief for nursing education and manpower in Taiwan.
