The study of nurses's perceptions about medication errors ,drugs errors and incident report

Learning Objective #1: This cross-sectional study was showed:possible causes of medication errors that were two drugs with similar names,illegible handwriting and prescribing the wrong dose.
Learning Objective #2: They estimated by the completion of an incident report.The nurses's perceptions about medication errors ,drugs errors and incident report showed significant.

The purpose of this study was to realize the nurse perceptions about medication errors ,drugs errors and incident report.This cross-sectional study was conducted the nurses from medical center,the questionnaires complete (97.7%),The study showed:(1)
possible causes of medication errors ranked top three were two drugs with similar names,illegible handwriting and physician prescribing the wrong dose.(2)they estimated that (69.04%)of all drug errors were reported to the nurse manager by the completion of an incident report.(3)they recalled 2medication errors in average making over the course of their career.(4)the nurses perceptions about medication errors ,drugs errors and incident report showed significant with age,clinical ladder,year of RN practice ,work settings , frequency of medication errors. This study showed the nurses knowed when must to incident report,but they also a afraid of  medication errors in average making over the course of their career,and medication errors is not serious so they didn’t report it,and the nurse perceptions about medication errors and incident report action were different.
So we hope this study can be used in programs designed to promote medication errors recognition,also provide the nursing administrator pay attention to the nurse perceptions of medication errors issues
