Learning Objective #2: understand the anxiety level of application music therapy on cardiovascular patients in intensive Care unit (ICU). |
The
purpose of the study was to examine effectiveness
of application music therapy on cardiovascular patients in intensive Care unit (ICU). A
Quasi-Experimental Design was used in the study.
This study was
conducted at a teaching hospital from
Following
music therapy application, results showed that: 1)the majority of age was 71
years old (45.2%), under elementary level of education was 66.3%, 50.0% had
smoking and drinking, and no-job was 73.3%. 2) the mean blood pressure and
temperature value was 121.3mmHg and 36.4°C in the experimental
group and 122.7 mmHg and 36.7°C in the control group,
respectively. 3) the mean anxiety scale was 2.95 in the experimental
group and was 3.20 in the control group. 4) the experimental
group was significantly less blood pressure, temperature value, and anxiety
scale.
Results lead
researchers to conclude that implementing music therapy could effectively
decrease anxiety on cardiovascular patients in intensive Care unit.
Study results should be provided to nurses as a reference when care the cardiovascular
patients.
