This presentation reports the findings of a correlational study that measured well-being using the WPS in 30 older adults who had experienced a sudden episode of disablement due to orthopedic injury or an orthopedic surgical procedure. The WPS was given prior to their first rehabilitation session, and again at the end of the 21 day rehabilitation program.  Scores on the WPS were significantly higher (p = .05) at the end of the rehabilitation program than at the pre-rehabilitation testing. The Cronbach’s alpha reliability estimate for the WPS was .8231, indicating an acceptable level of internal consistency.
