The spread of best practice and the use of best evidence remain sporadic. There continues to be a tension between policy imperatives and the ability to successfully enable local developments. This presentation will consider some of the key challenges and complexities involved in moving evidence-based practice forward into the 21st century, and will draw on examples from practice, research, education and policy.
