Effectively working with a culturally diverse population and caring for an increasingly diverse patient population requires resources, new knowledge, inclusive thought process, and a commitment that often will confront the status quo.  In addition, to educate staff   to champion diversity,   a training program (train the trainer) was developed to train selected staff to educate others on embracing diversity, supporting inclusiveness and providing culturally competent care, thus, building capacity for diversity.  As healthcare organizations are challenged to be more economically disciplined, it has become necessary for   organizations to be creative in ensuring that staff gain necessary education that can support ongoing skills enhancement with regard to embracing diversity, promoting inclusiveness and providing culturally competent healthcare services.
