B 03 SPECIAL SESSION: Special Interest Session: Advancing Global Nursing Leadership, Part II

Description/Overview: The Johns Hopkins University Center for Global Nursing proposes to convene a special session to discuss initiatives and collaborations aimed at promoting innovation, capacity development, resource alignment, and advocacy for the advancement of nursing education, research, practice and health policy worldwide. The purpose of the session is to convene nursing educational leaders to share common goals, programs, and collaborations and to provide an opportunity for networking around common interests. This special interest session will provide a forum for: development of recommendations to STTI for mobilizing resources to develop a cadre of global nursing leaders; formation of lasting global partnerships to develop innovative programs and initiatives for creative programs to grow capacity for global nursing leaders for advancing research, evidenced based practices, teaching and health care policy. Another important goal for the special session is the identification of and advocacy for securing the funding and technology to support global nursing leadership partnerships.
Learner Objective #1: Create recommendations for advancing SSTI development of leaders; formation of lasting partnerships and innovative programs and securing supporting resources and technologies.
Learner Objective #2: Gather information on strategies for securing resources/funding and technology to support global nursing leadership programs.
