Background

Work values affect each individual's important attitudes and attitudes towards the work. In view of the cross-strait exchange activities also extended to the medical market exchange, the two sides of the strait have been isolated for more than 40 years. The two sides are in culture, ideology, and political and economic systems. Such factors have obvious differences in work values, fully grasp the work value and work attitude of the nursing staff on the shore, and retaining and cultivating talents is one of the top priorities of the nursing supervisor.

Purpose

This study aimed to examine the work values and related factors nurses across the Taiwan Strait

Methods

A cross-sectional survey using self administrated questionnaires on 2,969 nures working at serving the same medical system, the clinical nursing staff belonging to the two hospitals in Taiwan and mainland China are the research objects. 2,523 valid surveys were subjected to analysis. The survey was conducted with the “Nursing Staff Work Value Scale”.

Results

1.Values of nursing staff in the two hospital districts: Taiwan: 2.92 points (out of 4 points); The research findings also indicated that there was no difference in work values among nurses working at two different hospitals within one health care system. They scored highest on the subscale of perseverance and capability and lowest on sense of development .2. Subjective feeling preference of nursing staff in order different: Taiwan: incidental value (characteristics of nursing organization structure)> extrinsic value (care professional characteristics)> intrinsic value (care organization task characteristics); mainland hospitality feeling : intrinsic value (Nursing organization task characteristics)>, incidental value (characteristics of nursing organization structure)> extrinsic value (care professional characteristics). 3. Relevance of work values: The internal values of the two sides (care organization tasks), incidental value (care structure characteristics), and external value (care professional characteristics) are positively correlated. The correlation analysis found that the values of Taiwan's hospital districts are related to low- and medium-degree associations, and the mainland hospitals are moderately and highly correlated.

conclusion

The cross-strait nursing staff's work values are positively related, indicating that the nursing work organization is perfect and the welfare conditions have a degree of influence.Managers should improve the company's welfare and talent long-term related training programs, and reward them according to the severity of the work. The more identify with the organization and increase your sense of belonging, the better the cohesiveness of the employees, which can reduce the recruitment and training costs of the medical institutions, so that the organization has more skilled employees, improve the quality of service, reduce the incidence of accidents, and improve the efficiency of nursing work.
