Experts on generational differences within the professional workforce will attest to the interesting dynamic that exists among the universe of registered nurses in the workplace. Providing clinical leadership to such a diverse group poses many challenges. The intergration of what appears to be two distinct groups of practitioners requires an evidenced-based, situational leadership approach which incorporates a basic knowledge and understanding of human nature. This presentation will outline strategies for the successful enculturation of senior nurses into an young, ever-dwindling professional environment.
