The use of technology is providing educational opportunities to a variety of adult learners in higher education. Nursing educators have embraced these opportunities and are presently integrating teaching-learning methods that use the most recent advancements in technology. These changes in nursing education have the potential to challenge the preservation of nursing standards related to safe patient care.  The purpose of this qualitative case study was to explore lessons learned from the perspectives of nursing students and educators participating in these Web-enhanced teaching-learning strategies. Teaching-learning strategies that were perceived as satisfactory in the outcome achievements associated with the application of safe patient-centered care were investigated.  Significant findings in this study indicated that students and educators value the use of the multiple teaching approaches used in this Web-enhanced program. They consider multi-media and using a variety of teaching strategies to be satisfactory for outcome achievement associated with safe patient care. The students indicated the in-class and online discussions were satisfactory and that they felt more engaged, and preferred this type of learning to lectures.  They also stated these discussions were important in processing information related to patient interaction in a variety of circumstances by increasing the student’s ability to apply the outcome achievements.  The majority of the educators identified the case studies or scenario based techniques to be most satisfactory in providing student outcome associated with safe patient care. There were also suggested areas for improvement of satisfaction. The most noticeable for increased satisfaction were the need for augmented face-to-face and clinical experiences to facilitate hands on experiences, and improvement with technology, as well as, technology skills.
