Physical Activity and Exercise Interventions in Chronic Illnesses

The theme of this symposium presentation is to describe the role of physical activity in optimizing physical functioning, preventing, attenuating or alleviating distressful symptoms, preventing complications, improving psychosocial adjustment to various chronic disorders thereby enhancing their subject's quality of life. Additionally, in the process of implementing physical activity or exercise interventions, these investigators will describe a number of common problems unique to their various populations and discuss strategies they have found useful in their research.
