Academia and Service Use Clinical Practice Model as Foundation
Bonnie Lou Wesorick, BS, MSN, CPM Resource Center, Grand Rapids, MI, USA

The synchronization of Faculty and Clinical Service Leaders around a joint effort to use technology to transform practice at the point of care requires a clear shared purpose.

The call to partner around an extensive transformation effort was driven by a common commitment to be a part of the work to assure the delivery of quality nursing care to every person needing nursing’s professional services. This presentation will share the Clinical Practice Model used in the design of the technology being implemented and show how each component correlates to the accountability of both the faculty in preparation of students and the accountability of the service leaders to enhance and advance quality nursing care.   The components of the model including tools and resources to support holistic assessment, use of evidence-based guidelines, integrated plans with interdisciplinary colleagues and enhancement of sound critical thinking and reasoning will be correlated to the practice transformation goals for the hospital and the goals within the curriculum.
