Since nurses have a significant role in quality of care in hospitals, their job satisfaction and quality of life should be concerned. Therefore, to explore their job satisfaction and quality of life should be one of significant issues for hospital administrators. The purpose of this study was to explore nurses’ job satisfaction and their quality of life and to examine factors related to nurses’ job satisfaction and quality of life. Participants were from six hospital nurses working in the middle-south areas of Taiwan. The instrument was sent to a representative of hospital who was able to explain the study to hospital nurses. The return rate was 86.5% (N = 658). Two questionnaires were adopted in the current study that were WHOQOL-Short form (Taiwanese version) and Nurses’ Job Satisfaction Scale. The findings of this study identify that there was a positive relationship between job satisfaction and quality of life (p < .05). Also, support from managers positively affected nurses’ quality of life. Nurses were not satisfied with continuing education and promotion. According to these findings, recommendations are made that may help to concern about nurses, and decrease nurses’ turnover rate and suggestions put forward for future study.
