Although progress is being made to advance EBP throughout the United States and globe, the majority of nurses have yet to consistently implement an evidence-based approach to patient care. Thus, there is an urgent need to develop strong collaborative   initiatives to advance EBP across national and global settings. This presentation will focus on essential strategies for developing and implementing national and global collaborations to advance EBP. Two examples of recent initiatives will be discussed to highlight key strategies for successful collaboration: (1) the first US EBP Leadership Summit, and (2) implementation of the COPE (Creating Opportunities for Parent Empowerment) Program for hospitalized/critically ill children and low-birth-weight premature infants and their parents.
