Description/Overview: Recognition is an important factor and motivator in the work environment and in professional organization and fosters respect,teamwork and commitment to the mission and strategic plan. Healthcare delivery focuses on meeting patients needs and requires that employees at all levels work together and support each other to achieve success. This symposium will focus on how building a culture based on Attitude of Gratitude principles can have both positive direct and indirect effects on human behavior and result in outstanding results and individuals routinely exceeding expectations. Each author will provide an evidence based review of how the development of an Attitude of Gratitude philosophy and program drives success. Discussion of specific examples, strategies and measures of success that can be used as part of the development, dissemination and sustaining processes in various settings and situations will be offered. The audience will learn simple strategies for fostering recognition, retention and innovation.
